The 7000 Islands Wine Co. brand is a feather in our cap at Studio Solis. The challenge presented by its founder, Siegfrid Bacani, was to create a wine brand that fuses cultures, transcends borders, and weaves a rich tapestry of history and custom throughout its identity.

The brand creates a strong foundation on which to build rewarding partnerships across the Pacific, between Australia and the Philippines. These partnerships informed many of our design decisions as we sought to celebrate our commonalities as well as our unique yet complementary differences.

The success of the brand weighs heavily on a strong collaborative approach between Studio Solis and Siggy, who held the vision for 7000 Islands every step of the way. The final brand is a testament to our mutual commitment to create something truly special.

7000 Islands Wine Co. celebrates the Australian lifestyle through a Filipino lens, and invites both Australian Filipinos and those in the Philippines to experience the joy of Australian wine. Founder Siegfrid Bacani is passionate about combining Aussie wine with Filipino food and sharing unexpected yet complementary flavour combinations with the Filipino community.

Studio Solis worked closely with Siggy to craft branding, packaging solutions and copy that reflects 7000 Islands’ positioning.

The OPM range of wines features bespoke illustrations of Australian flowers.

The ‘Silver Princess’, ‘Queen of the Night’ and ‘Summer Beauty’ elegantly capture the essence of OPM, or Oro Plata Mata, and explore a little known interpretation of ‘Mata’ that is more aligned with “what the earth gives us”, rather than its more commonly accepted translation of “death” or “chance”.

Senso/rio is one of the first ranges of ‘wine in a can’ to launch in the Philippines.

We designed packaging for a white and rose wine, both featuring the Senso/rio ‘kaleidoscope mandala’, which fuses a sense of excitement and energy with the beautiful patterning of Spanish tiles.

7000 Islands has the ability to work as a lifestyle brand as well as a wine brand.

For their apparel line, we designed a range of t-shirts, each featuring a bespoke illustration to represent an iconic Filipino location.

7000 Islands aims to weave a sense of surprise and fun throughout their brand, and that was certainly achieved with this streetwear range. The 7000 Islands brand reimagines what it looks like to be a modern Australian wine brand, seamlessly crossing the divide between ‘wine company’ and ‘lifestyle brand’.

Jess was recommended by two of Australia’s smartest young marketing minds. I knew instantly I’d found a little gem – Jess has that rare combination of creative flair and design excellence, paired with the enquiring mind of strategist. She really gets into your head as the business owner and your business: it’s challenges; your competition; the opportunities; your vision and dreams for your company.

I usually group design partners into two camps from my time working with big brands like Red Bull, Jack Daniel’s and Hennessy. They are either ‘pure creatives’ and live in that ‘special place’, or designers with ‘commercial nous’. With Jess and Studio Solis, you get both.

The collaboration process has been a joy from scoping of the project, to immersive briefing, to the actual design response.
